Hardwood Flooring in Pottstown with Water Damage

When a kitchen with hardwood flooring in a Pottstown kitchen had water damage, the homeowner assumed they needed to get ready for the expense of replacing the hardwood flooring. However, because SERVPRO technicians got called in soon after the event, the water did not penetrate the subfloor and the floorboards had restoration potential. The techs extracted the water, but because wood absorbs water, it needs warm air forced into the floorboards to ensure they dry all the way through. Specialized equipment, such as the multiple drying mats as seen in the Before Photo, is effective on hardwood floorboards. After drying, the boards get inspected to determine if they are level or require sanding and refinishing as part of the restoration.
